The opening event featured the the singer Twin Shadow, DJ `s AndrewAndrew musician Questlove of The Roots and TV show host Jimmy Fallon NBC's Late Night.
Os trabalhos do artista plástico Fernando Carpaneda foram exibidos dia 18 de Junho de 2012, em gigantescas telas brilhantes de LED na Times Square durante a abertura da exposição ART TAKES TIMES SQUARE. A escala da exposição foi extraordinária e vista por mais de meio milhão de pessoas.
